Bourns, Inc. introduced an expansion of its PEC11S Series 12 mm surface mount incremental encoders with additional shaft length options and expanded switch configurations. The contacting encoder provides 2-bit quadrature output for precise rotational input control in compact user interface designs. Designers of control interfaces in industrial, consumer, and communications equipment require compact input devices that maintain consistent electrical performance within defined mechanical constraints. Limited shaft length availability can restrict enclosure design flexibility and increase mechanical redesign effort. In addition, integrating rotary and push input functions often requires additional components or design tradeoffs. The expanded PEC11S Series addresses these design constraints by offering multiple shaft lengths and integrated SPST momentary switch configurations within a compact 12 mm package, enabling simplified panel layout and component selection.
“Expanding shaft length and switch configuration options in the PEC11S Series provides engineers with additional flexibility to match their mechanical layout requirements while maintaining consistent electrical performance," said Javier Navarro, Product Line Manager, Bourns, Inc.
