Bourns, Inc. today announced the release of the PF-000100E, PF-01N100E, and PF-1NH100E Series POWrFuse™ High‑Power Fuses, expanding its high‑power industrial fuse link portfolio. The new series provides aR Class overcurrent protection for semiconductor and battery‑based DC systems operating at up to 1000 VDC. These fuse links are designed to support high interrupting capacity requirements in modern power conversion and energy storage architectures. As power conversion equipment, battery energy storage systems, and DC distribution architectures continue to scale in voltage and fault current capability, designers face increasing pressure to protect sensitive semiconductor devices and battery subsystems without adding unnecessary system complexity.
High DC voltages and fast fault conditions require fuse solutions that comply with multiple international standards while maintaining predictable clearing behavior. In applications such as DC common bus systems and charging infrastructure, inadequate overcurrent protection can result in component damage, system downtime, or safety risks. The PF‑000100E, PF‑01N100E and PF‑1NH100E Series are intended to address these constraints through standardized, high‑interrupting‑capacity fuse designs for demanding DC environments.
“High‑voltage DC systems place specific demands on fuse performance, particularly in semiconductor and battery protection scenarios,” said Shawn Yu, Product Line Manager, Fuses at Bourns. “The PF‑000100E, PF‑01N100E and PF‑1NH100E Series were developed to align with relevant aR and aBat standards while supporting the voltage and interrupting current levels commonly specified in industrial and energy storage designs.”
